Know any K-12 students or teachers? Get Michigan's wildlife into their classroom! The deadline to register for the Michigan Department of Natural Resources' free wildlife educational opportunities is approaching. These resources offer educators a fun way to integrate the state's unique flora and fauna into their curriculum, while still meeting required educational standards. Programs are available for kindergarten through 12th grades: Elk University is offered for ninth through 12th grades. A Year in the Life of a Michigan Black Bear is available to sixth, seventh and eighth grades. Go Wild for Michigan's Wildlife is offered to kindergarten through fifth grades. Educators are asked to register for these classroom programs by Sept. 30. To register, educators can visit mi.gov/dnrteachers and click on "Wildlife Education and Outreach," then select the program(s) they are interested in. The Michigan Department of Natural Resources is committed to the conservation, protection, management, use and enjoyment of the state's natural and cultural resources for current and future generations.
